I am absolutely delighted and honoured to have been invited by Hong Kong International Literary Festival to participate in the poetry conversation "Building Bridges Across Hong Kong Poetry", with such renowned poets as Yam Gong, Daniel Hamilton, Jason Lee, Florence Ng, and Jennifer Wong. We'll read from our latest collections - building bridges through poetry beyond languages and sharing our common fascination for Hong Kong.

Please join us on Saturday 11th of March 2023 at 8 pm at the Fringe Diary.

Mine is a long-lasting relationship with words.

Writing poems is my passion, and translating different texts from English into Italian and vice versa is my job. My interest in writing dates back to university times, in Milan. There, fascinated by the masterpieces of the classic writers, I pursued an MA in Foreign Modern Languages and Literature and studied English, Anglo-American, German, Russian and Italian literature, all of which became an incredible source to draw inspiration from. In those years, my writing mainly took the form of poetry.

Between 2015 and 2017, in order to learn about the writer's craft and refine my skills, I enrolled in an MFA in Creative Writing at the University of Hong Kong. This course turned out to be a very rewarding experience and pushed me to commit more seriously to the 'profession of writing', in a variety of forms: poetry, fiction, creative non-fiction, book reviews, articles.

Attending poetry readings regularly in Hong Kong, at Peel Street Poetry and OutLoud Hong Kong, has given me the chance to be more immersed in the poetry world and pushed me to read and write more. After some very useful workshops with fellow poets, some special ‘themed’ events (like the Italian, Spanish, and Indian Poetry Nights) that I co-organised, and after taking part in some poetry readings, I must say that Poetry is always in flux, and I can see my writing changing and evolving.

Some of my poems have been featured, among others, on ‘Cha: An Asian Literary Journal’, 'New Asian Writing', ‘From Whispers to Roars’, The Curator, The Wild Word, and printed in 'Voice and Verse Magazine', ‘Wisconsin Review’. They also appeared in printed poetry collections: “American Writer’s Review” “Where Else: An International Hong Kong Poetry Anthology” (Verve Poetry Press), “Making Space“ (Chinese University Press), “Desde Hong Kong, Poets in Conversation with Octavio Paz” (Chameleon Press), “Quixotica: Poets East of La Mancha” (Chameleon Press), ‘Mingled Voices’ (2, 3 and 4 - Proverse Publishing), ‘Poems from the Lockdown’ (Willowdown Books, UK).

in November 2021, my poetry collection ‘Uncharted Waters’, has been announced as one of the two winners of The Proverse Prize 2020, the other one being a fiction work. The book received a grant from the Hong Kong Arts Development Council.
